Newborn Formula – From Birth (0–6 Months)

PRE vs. Stage 1. Both are complete infant formulas for 0–6 months. European PRE formulas use lactose as the only carbohydrate, while some Stage 1 recipes add a little starch. Many families start with PRE and move to Stage 1 later, but either can be used from day one.

Cow milk vs. goat milk. HiPP, Holle, Kendamil, Aptamil and Töpfer offer cow milk recipes; Holle Goat, Kabrita, Nannycare, Kendamil Goat and HiPP Goat are made on whole goat milk. Both are full infant formulas under EU regulations.

HA and Comfort. HiPP HA, HiPP Comfort, Kendamil Comfort and Aptamil Comfort are special recipes formulated for use from birth. If you are considering one of these, talk it through with your pediatrician first.
